Announcement: Due to a grant from the U.S. Department of Education, an 80% child care tuition reduction is available to Pell eligible SFCC students. For more information, please contact (509) 533-3624.

The purpose of the Early Learning Center is to provide quality, affordable childcare to children of SFCC student parents and to support their parenting needs in ways that enhance their opportunities for success in college.

ELC Club meetings are generally the second Thursday of the month from 12:00 PM to 1:30 PM. The room varies. Refreshments and door prizes are provided. Most ELC club members are also Head Start/Early Head Start parents but it is open to anyone.

The SFCC Early Learning Center is…

  • A college-operated laboratory site for the early childhood education program.
  • A BRAND NEW state-licensed and nationally accredited child care facility, providing care for children age 6 weeks through preschool.
  • A Head Start/Early Head Start site consisting of infant, toddler and preschool classrooms. Head Start is a federally funded program for families meeting enrollment guidelines. Full-time SFCC students utilizing the childcare program receive priority for enrollment. Registration is year-round. Please come to Bldg 29 for current information, and to find out more about the program.

The ELC is staffed by professionals in early childhood education and students in training. The center also provides referrals to many community social services, including SFCC Student Success classes, mental health services, and SFCC food bank.

SFCC ELC Hours of Operation: Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM, fall through spring quarters. The center is open Monday through Thursday during summer quarter. Services are offered when SFCC is in session.
