Bill Holcomb is an adjunct instructor in the
Small Business Management Program. He teaches a wide variety of classes including;
How To Start A Small Business, Retail Sales, Customer Service, Intro To Business,
Marketing, International Marketing, Principles of Management, Leadership and the
Management Seminar. Bill is also an entrepreneur. He has formed, owned, managed
and sold several businesses during his career in small business. Some of these businesses
include businesses in such diverse industries as; manufacturing small boats, retail
ski and sailboat center, apple production/packaging and shipping, and small business
consulting services specializing in small business financing and business plan development.
Bill has several passionate interests outside of SFCC. He is an avid sailor and
sailing instructor. One of Bill's goals is to sail at least seventy days each year.
Because of his expertise in the sailing industry, Bill has been featured in several
television broadcasts as well as sailing videos. He has been the editor of internationally
circulated sailing publications and receives an average of fifty emails each day
from sailors all over the world. Bill also is an alpine ski racing coach. This contributes
to spending at least fifty days per year skiing. In his spare time, he enjoys woodworking,
golf, reading, and writing.
