Computer and Network Support
View Career Guide
Computer and Network Support concentrates on the practical operation, maintenance
and use of computers, computer networks and their peripherals. This intensive hands-on
program prepares the certificate holder to maintain the hardware and software of
small computer and network systems. Computers are rapidly becoming networked in
LANs and on the Internet in homes, factories, and offices. This program teaches
students to maintain and keep these systems running. Students also learn to assist
and train computer users in the use of modern software and hardware.
The program is intended to prepare students for entry-level positions in computer/network
support departments or as the computer/network specialist in a small to medium sized
office. Students are expected to have other skills needed to integrate this program
with the skills necessary for the nature of employment they have or seek.
