Business Technology On Ground - The Traditional Way!

  • What is the Traditional Way?

Classes offered in a traditional learning format have the instructor present to demonstrate, guide, and teach. Classes in the traditional format style usually have hands-on projects, using business and office equipment at the college and interaction with other students. Traditional teaching allows the instructor to see you face-to-face and help you as needed.

  • Can I take traditional and online classes?

Yes! We understand that a student prefers face-to-face instruction from their instructor in some classes, while in other classes a student needs the flexibility of an online class. Your advisor will work with you and share scheduling options that are available.

  • How long will it take me to complete a program?

The typical length of completion for our certificate programs is one year (3 quarters), while the typical length of our degree programs is two years (6 quarters). Of course, this all depends on you. How quickly you successfully progress in your classes and the load of credits you take each quarter will alter these timeframes.

  • Will I have an advisor?

Yes! You will be assigned an advisor that is a Business Technology instructor. This is a great advantage to you, because you will receive one-on-one time with your advisor each quarter to plan your future class schedule. Because your advisor is also a Business Technology instructor, you will receive the most up-to-date information about classes and the assurance that you are taking the classes that are a right fit for you.

  • What if I have prior college experience?

We recognize that you may come into our program with previous college experience and credits. If this is the case, you will meet with a Business Technology advisor to go over your transcripts. During this meeting, the advisor will inform you on what can be applied to the current degree or certificate you are pursuing.

  • Can I receive college credit for my work experience?

We recognize that you may come into our program with previous work experience. If this is the case, you will meet with a Business Technology advisor to go over the skills and responsibilities you have acquired during your employment. During this meeting, the advisor will inform you on what prior learning can be used to apply towards the degree or certificate you want to complete. You may be asked to complete a prior learning assessment to show you have the skills. This is one of the many ways we help you to complete your degree.

  • Is there financial aid assistance?

Yes! Business Technology programs have the same funding options as other SFCC programs and courses. Courses can be paid for using financial aid, military education benefits, scholarships, grants, employer-funded tuition assistance/reimbursement funding, and cash.

  • When can I start this program?

You can start any quarter! We offer classes throughout the year that allow you to start your education anytime that is right for you.
