The Audio Engineering Program for the 2009-2010 academic year is now full. We will be accepting applications
for the 2010-2011 academic year March 1 through June 1, 2010.
Please read carefully the following description
of the application process.
To be admitted to the program, all applicants must:
- Complete a college application
- Complete placement tests, or submit evidence of coursework in reading, writing, and mathematics
- Submit an essay
- Complete an interview
College Application:
Complete an online application. On your application, be sure
to indicate Audio Engineering (#212) as your program intent. If you have already submitted a college application,
update your
program code to indicate Audio Engineering. For general information about admissions, contact the
Admissions Office at (509) 533-3365.
Placement Tests:
Complete placement tests in reading, writing and math. To schedule an appointment at Spokane Falls, visit the
Assessment Testing website or call (509) 533-3401.
Please bring your placement scores with you to the interview. Applicants who do not have their scores at the
interview will be eliminated from the interview process. The reading and writing placement test at SFCC
is the COMPASS. The math placement test is My Math. For applicants from out of the area, you may take reading,
writing and math tests at any community college so long as you provide us, on the day of your
interview, with contact information for a person at that college who is able and available, if needed, to
explain/interpret the test results. Applicants who have completed coursework at SFCC in Math 99 and English
101, or equivalent coursework at another accredited institution of higher education, may submit transcripts in lieu
of placement test scores.
Essay:
In a one- to two-page essay (typed or neatly hand-written), tell us about your personal interest in the Audio
Engineering Program at Spokane Falls, experience you possess in music and/or audio engineering, and your future
goals. Please bring your essay with you to your interview. Applicants who do not have their essay at the
interview will be eliminated from the interview process.
Interview:
Once you submit your college application, contact us at
AudioTechnology@spokanefalls.edu to schedule an interview.
You will be notified by email of your interview date and time. If for any reason you do not receive interview
information within a week of contacting us, please follow up by telephone (509-533-3720), as it
is important to us that nobody is overlooked. Your interview will be 15 minutes in length. Plan to arrive 10
minutes early. Applicants who arrive late will be eliminated from the interview process.
