  • Work in conjunction with the Coordinator of Student Activities and Recreation to supervise, develop, and execute a comprehensive, entertaining and educational program for students, staff, faculty, and the community.
  • Shall work in conjunction with the Coordinator of Student Activities and Recreation to interview, select, and oversee the activities of all Student Activities programmers.
  • Shall work with the Coordinator of Facilities Scheduling to ensure that all activities are properly scheduled and promoted through the quarterly calendar and reader board. 
  • Shall work to ensure that all contracts and financial forms have been processed through the Coordinator of Student Activities and Recreation and the office of Student Funded Programs.
  • Shall meet weekly with the Coordinator of Student Activities and Recreation to discuss the execution and logistical components of the upcoming activities.
  • Shall preside at the weekly activities meetings of the Student Activities Board and coordinate the execution of the “club days.”
  • Shall assist all clubs/organizations with the initiation, planning, and execution of activities or events for the student body.
  • Shall provide assistance to any group of students who wish to form a club or organization on campus. 
  • Serve as the liaison between the Student Senate and the Activities Board, bringing proposals and reports forward for approval or informational purposes.
  • Serve as the official student representative for all contracts negotiated by student programmers and assist with the preparation of budgets on a quarterly and annual basis.
  • Complete all other duties as assigned by the Activities Vice President, Coordinator of Student Activities and Recreation, or the Associate Dean of Student Funded Programs.

  • Shall record minutes of the regularly scheduled and special meetings of the Activities Board. Shall prepare minutes for printing and distributing at least 48 hours from the conclusion of the Activities Board meeting.
  • Shall prepare agendas and other materials as directed by the activities Vice President and Coordinator for student activities and Recreation.
  • Shall type any purchase orders, Personal Service contracts or other vital correspondence as requested by the Activities VP and Coordinator.  
  • Complete all other duties as assigned by the Activities Vice President, or Coordinator of Student Activities and Recreation.

  • Shall be responsible for the designing of promotion and promotional plans for Student Activities events.
  • Shall meet on a regular basis with a representative from The Communicator in order to promote activities and events of Student Activities.
  • Shall promote all Student Activities through the use of bulletin boards, the campus reader-board, electronic reader-boards, on-campus newsletters, quarterly calendars, campus email, and any other applicable campus publications.
  • Shall work with the district College Relations department for any events requiring press releases or other promotion that is outside the capabilities of Student Activities.
  • Shall ensure that display cases are updated and that promotion of events is properly distributed throughout the campus and community.
  • Shall brainstorm and execute creative promotional ideas and ensure that any additional promotional materials for any Student Activities are ordered and received.
  • Shall be the official representative to the outside organizations regarding promotion of events and activities.
  • Shall update all reader-boards and ensure that bulletin boards are attractive and updated.
  • Complete all other duties as assigned by the Activities Vice President, or Coordinator of Student Activities and Recreation.


Amanda Markley

  • Shall facilitate the booking of entertainment activities of a diverse nature to entertain students, staff, faculty, and the community.  This includes the booking of comedians, bands, solo artists, games and group activities, variety entertainment, and events that appeal to a wide array of ages, gender, ethnicity, and interests.
  • Shall work to diversify the dates, times, locations, and cost for all events in order to involve a variety of students.
  • Shall work in conjunction with the Special Events Programmer to prepare, plan, and execute all week long events sponsored by Student Activities.
  • Shall actively seek input from the student body in order to determine the type of events that he/she will plan throughout the year.
  • Complete all other duties as assigned by the Activities Vice President, or Coordinator of Student Activities and Recreation.


Michael Holmes

  • Shall coordinate events with faculty members in order to involve classroom participation and further enhance classroom education through the cultural/colloquia series.
  • Shall promote lectures that include, but are not limited to, alcohol and substance abuse, the environment, sexual issues, culture and ethnicity, disability, crime prevention, health and wellness, legislation, education, and current political and global issues.
  • Shall seek out pertinent social, economical, or cultural issues and promote forums and discussions to be included as part of the cultural/colloquia series.
  • Shall serve as one of the student representatives on the Outcomes committee or any other university-established committee that is specifically designed for campus lectures and requires student involvement.
  • Shall be responsible for educating the campus and community with workshops, awareness weeks, or special events that appeal to issues affecting the campus, community, region, nation, or world. This shall include, but not be limited to, Alcohol Awareness Week, National Condom Day, World Food Day, Earth Day, etc.
  • Shall serve as a resource center for the disbursement of information and literature regarding current issues and awareness.
  • Shall seek input from the student body in order to determine the type of events that he/she will plan throughout the year.
  • Complete all other duties as assigned by the Activities Vice President, or Coordinator of Student Activities and Recreation.

  • Shall be responsible for providing comprehensive and collaborative events that celebrate campus, seasonal, national, international, and cultural events. These events include, but are not limited to, Welcome Week, Winterfest, Spring Fling, Graduate Appreciation Week, and other events determined by the Student Activities board.
  • Shall work in conjunction with all coordinators to ensure that week long activities are diverse and will entertain the students, staff, faculty, and community.
  • Shall serve on the college committees that represent foundation activities, open houses, and other events that require campus collaboration.
  • Shall determine, in conjunction with the Student Activities board, which national, social, and cultural events should be celebrated in the form of a special event.
  • Shall seek input from the student body in order to determine the type of events that he/she will plan throughout the year.
  • Complete all other duties as assigned by the Activities Vice President, or Coordinator of Student Activities and Recreation.

  • Shall be responsible for sponsoring activities aimed at increasing local and regional awareness of Spokane Falls Community College.
  • Shall sponsor workshops and activities that assist with the educational and personal needs of the students and community. Such topics include, but are not limited to, time management, interviewing skills, resume writing, self defense, cooking, etc.
  • Shall implement and execute activities that are specifically designed for increasing community involvement and/or bringing community organizations to campus.
  • Shall sponsor activities that appeal to the sports, recreational, and leisure interests of students and community. Activities shall include, but not be limited to, hiking, white water rafting, skiing, fishing, ropes course, hang gliding etc.
  • Shall coordinate tours of local and regional attractions for the students and community. The coordinator shall help students to perform volunteer activities at the college and in the community.
  • Shall assist with discount ticket sales to a variety of local sports, leisure, and recreational activities.
  • Shall coordinate all fundraising efforts for Student Activities.
  • Complete all other duties as assigned by the Activities Vice President, or Coordinator of Student Activities and Recreation.
