Lübeck is Germany’s largest Baltic port, not far from the former East Germany and Scandinavia. While it is over 850 years old, Lübeck is a bustling city of the 20th century with a population of over 250,000. Its abundant music, theater, art and colorful festivals attest to Lübeck’s rank as a cultural center of Northern Germany. In Lübeck one finds a historical downtown area centered in a big modern city. It's location so close to the rough but extremely beautiful coastline makes Lübeck attractive for a variety of water sport activities.

While the city itself has so many different things to offer, the region has even more. Hamburg, Bremen and Berlin are within a 100 mile radius, and also many smaller towns, rich in history and culture are worth a visit.
