Summer Quarter in Germany

This unique study program is designed to provide students with the opportunity to pursue studies in the German language while surrounded by and immersed in the culture of the people. This living/learning experience takes place during the course of one summer month in Spokane's sister city Lübeck, Germany. Lu beck is Germany's largest Baltic port, not far from the former East Germany and Scandinavia. While it is nearly 850 years old, Lübeck is a bustling city of the 21st Century with a population of over 250,000. Its abundant music, theatre, art and colorful festivals attest to Lübeck's rank as a cultural center of northern Germany. Students live in single and double rooms in private guest houses in Lübeck. 1st, 2nd and 3rd year German classes are taught by Inga Jablonsky, SFCC, and Dr. Sally Winkle, EWU. These classes will be scheduled in the mornings, leaving the afternoons free for individual study, field trips or recreation.
