Blackboard offers tools to manage and facilitate online group interaction and collaboration.
The Control Panel contains a Manage Groups option under the User
Management section that allows the instructor to create groups, assign members to
groups, and specify which group tools will be available. Each group has its own
set of private communication tools, available only to the team members. Group tools
can include: Group File Exchange, Group Discussion Board,
Group Virtual Classroom, and Group Email. These
group tools provide secure areas that members of each team can use to share files,
discuss, chat in real time with a shared drawing space (whiteboard), and send email.
These tools promote private interaction and collaboration, helping online groups
work effectively and efficiently.
