Professional/Technical education programs give students practical training for jobs
that require specific skills and knowledge in order to meet employers' needs. Through
these training programs, students may earn an
Associate in Applied Science (A.A.S.) degree or an Professional/Technical
Certificate. The degree program normally requires two years of study; certificates
are for programs one year or less.

Requirements
A candidate for a certificate in an professional/technical program of at least three
quarters in length must have earned a minimum of 9 credits in related instruction.
A minimum of 2 credits must be completed in each of the areas of communications,
computation and human relations/leadership. Applicable safety and hygiene requirements
also must be completed. A student possessing proven competencies in these areas
may be granted advanced standing. Advanced standing placements must be approved
by the appropriate vice president or assistant dean. A minimum grade-point average
of 2.0 must be maintained.
