Policy and Legal Issues
Initiative 200 was passed on the Nov. 3, 1998 ballot. I-200 legislation states that
state and local governments will not be allowed to use affirmative action programs
to ensure equal opportunity for qualified women and people of color in public employment,
education and contracting.
The Community Colleges of Spokane works with the Assistant Attorney General's office
to determine what impact, if any, this legislation will have on our community college
district.
