Petition for Reinstatement of Financial Aid Eligibility
Students who feel extenuating circumstances prevented them from successfully completing the quarter
and/or completing the degree/certificate within the maximum time frame, may request reinstatement of their financial aid eligibility.
CREDITS COMPLETED OR GPA REQUIREMENT:
Complete the Financial Aid Satisfactory Academic Progress Appeal.
MAXIMUM TIME FRAME:
- If the petition is approved, the student will be placed on Financial Aid probation. Financial aid eligibility will be reinstated.
Complete the Request for Additional Quarters Appeal.
MAXIMUM TIME FRAME NOTES:
Students will be expected to submit a Degree (Graduation) Application.
If the Request is approved, the student will be eligible for financial
aid for courses required to graduate, as listed in the letter from the Graduation Evaluator.
NO LONGER ELIGIBLE FOR FINANCIAL AID:
Students enrolling in courses required for graduation from another college or university are not eligible for financial aid at SFCC.
Students enrolled in courses required as pre-requisites for acceptance into a program at another college or university, if approved,
will be limited to loan funding.
Students who have attempted 125% of their program are not eligible for State Need Grant funding even if the
Request for Additional Quarters is approved.
Students who have their aid reinstated, will be placed on Probation for all subsequent quarters they are enrolled. Probation is not removed.
If the student fails to meet the credit and/or GPA requirements, they will be put on Financial Aid Suspension.
- Students who have completed two CCS Degrees and/or Certificates for have attempted three programs regardless of completion
- If it is mathematically impossible to meet the pace of progression requirements, consideration for reinstatement of financial aid will be denied.
