Transfer Track for WSU Spokane
SFCC Interior Design Program
Washington State University and Spokane Falls Community College have created a working
partnership offering interior design students the best of both worlds in education
and career choices.
This partnership allows students to begin at SFCC, earn an A.A.S. degree with a
professional diploma specializing in residential and commercial design, and then
transfer with full senior standing to WSU Spokane’s prestigious Interdisciplinary Design Institute,
where they can earn a bachelor’s degree in interior design. In order to be certified
into the third year professional diploma program, students must complete a review
process upon completion of their second year.
SFCC’s highly respected program is designed with input from professionals throughout
the region and follows curriculum standards set by the
Council for Interior Design Accreditation (formerly FIDER). Students can pursue
any of three different degree tracks including:
- An associate in applied science degree with emphasis on residential design.
- A professional diploma for residential and commercial design, or
- A bachelor’s degree from Washington State University in interior design. Students
earn their professional diploma from SFCC, and then transfer with full senior standing
to the WSU Spokane Interdisciplinary Design Institute.
